introductory classic training course

Our Introductory Classic Training Course will be based off the Competency unit SHBBMUP001 - Apply Eyelash Extensions. This unit is prescribed by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training and covers a variety of topics in line with performing the eyelash extension skill with correct competence. 

The course is over 2 Full days with ongoing support with Deanna who has completed her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with Box Hill Institute, authorising her to certify lash students with accredited 'Statement of Attainments' which sees the students accredited throughout Australia and job ready. 


  • lash theory- products, lash types and diameters, tweezer hold, isolation, station preparation, natural lashes

    • priming and lash preparation

  • live demonstration

  • mannequin practice


  • lash theory​ - retention issues, styling, eye shapes, contraindications, dealing with different lash issues (damaged, curled, blonde lashes)

    • dealing with clients, liability forms, aftercare

  • live model practice

  • infill and removal demonstration

After the 2 day course, lash students will need practice on 5 models in their own time, take photos of each model and submit as they go via email for feedback and book in a Final Assessment Date with Deanna where they will come into the salon and perform a full set on a model and simulate a lash appointment - including introducing the client to liability forms and aftercare procedures.

To be deemed competent within the course, students will need to show:

  • Evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit in the context of the job role, and:

  • treatment plan to apply safe and appropriate eyelash extensions suitable for the following client treatment objectives:

    • two full-set applications, each set consisting of a minimum of forty eyelash extensions per eye

    • refill / in-fill services

    •  removal services

  • design and provide treatment routines that demonstrate correct:

    • ·patch testing

    • ·selection and application of eyelash extensions type

  • eyelash extension application to suit client eye shape and facial features

  • design, record and maintain treatment plans and records for each eyelash extension treatment specifying for each client

  • present self, according to organisational policy

  • comply with health and hygiene regulations and requirements.

  • Demonstrated knowledge required to complete the tasks outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit:

  • state or territory and local health and hygiene regulations and requirements relevant to eyelash extension services

  • organisational policies and procedures relevant to eyelash extension services:

  • client record management

  • equipment and product use and maintenance

  • incident reporting

  • personal hygiene and presentation

  • waste disposal

  • work health and safety

  • legal and insurance liabilities and responsibilities regarding eyelash extension services

  • scope of practice:

    • when to refer clients to other practitioners

    • importance of not stating a diagnosis of contraindications

  • the impact of eye shapes on eyelash extensions

  • effects and benefits of eyelash extensions:

    • fullness

    • length

    • thickness

  • natural eyelash growth rate and stages of hair growth cycle

  • advantages and disadvantages of a range of eyelash extensions

  • differences between different types of eyelash extension

  • selection criteria and application of eyelash extension type:

    • adhesive

    • colour

    • curl

    • length

  • benefits and effects of different types of adhesives

  • contraindications that prevent or restrict eyelash services, and their relationship to the service

  • aftercare advice, products and future treatments to maintain eyelash extensions.

Each Student will receive;

  • Start up kit including adhesive, lash trays, tweezers, and much more (valued at $650 with potential earning capability over $3000)

  • Focused one on on assistance

  • Live Model Training

  • Certification upon completion of course and finalisation of course payment

  • Ongoing support

  • In class theory exercises and interactive assessment
